Thanksgiving

Since 1619, Thanksgiving was celebrated for the plantation lands found in Virginia for their fertile lands. The English settlers aboard the ship Margaret claimed that they should make the journey yearly and perpetually keep holy as a day of thanksgiving to Almighty God.

As President of the United States, George Washington proclaimed the first nationwide thanksgiving celebration in America. It was then named as a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many and signal favors of Almighty God.

What are you most thankful for this season?
